The classic Iittala glass birds line by Finnish design pioneer Oiva Toikka first took flight in 1972 at the Nuutajärvi glass plant. When the series' production moved to the Iittala Glass Factory in 2014, Toikka kept up his tight relationship with the glassblowers there. The series is an expression of a rich mix of glassmaking traditions and combines Toikka's love of nature with blown glass art. Each handcrafted and mouthblown bird is a unique work of art.
